Transitions Series, Installment 1 of 3
In this mini-series, we’re looking at the idea of change… how to embrace it, how to respond to it, how to run with it.
FROM DARKNESS INTO LIGHT
Have you ever felt like you needed a lawyer, or at least some form of legal advice, legal guidance? Every person who comes through my professional doors feels that way. It’s why they come. The common thread among all people reaching out for legal help is this: Change. They are all in the midst of some kind of transition. And so are you. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when change will come.
If you’re not a big fan of change, there’s really good news. Every single person in the midst of a transition is presented with the opportunity of moving from darkness into light. Consider these transitions:
Did you notice that each example above has a “from” (darkness) and “to” (light) component? That is the commonality of every kink, every conflict, every problem in life – the opportunity to move from a place of darkness to a place of light.
Yet, there’s a “catch” in the darkness-to-light opportunity. And that is, the transition from darkness to light depends on you. The opportunity is yours for the taking, and it happens over time. It happens through a series of small but positive choices to move from darkness into the light. What transition are you in today? Are you running toward the light? What decisions will you make to seize the opportunity that’s before you?
The light won’t come on by itself. So, climb up. Reach out. Plug in. I can’t wait to see you in the sunshine.
My best for your bright future,
