Paralegal – Family Law and/or Probate


We are looking for a top-flight paralegal to join our growing paralegal department. The successful candidate will join a progressive paralegal team in a positive environment, working with four lawyers well known in the community, and highly respected by both bench and bar. Law firm is aggressive in its use of current technology, including cloud-based data storage and law practice management systems.

We are looking for a career-minded paralegal who exhibits the utmost in professionalism and works cooperatively and enthusiastically in a family law, conservatorships, guardianships, and general probate environment. The ability to work well as a team player and thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential. The ideal candidate must be a highly organized self-starter who can interface with our sophisticated Clientele and produce high-quality work.

Requirements and Duties:

*Bachelor’s degree;

*Paralegal certificate with all continuing education requirements met;

*5+ years California paralegal experience in family law and/or probate (significant family law experience preferred, extensive civil litigation experience will be considered);

*Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail;

*Polished and professional manner and appearance;

*Excellent attendance record;

*Providing outstanding customer service to Clients, vendors and business affiliates;

*Proficient in MS Word; Essential Forms, Legal Solutions and/or LawYaw;

*Strong typing skills;

*Dissomaster/XSpouse, Propertizer a plus;

*Preparation and organization of case pleadings, notes and legal documents relating to Family Law, Guardianships, Conservatorships, Wills, Trusts and civil discovery matters;

*Knowledge of local practices, court forms, rules and filing procedures;

*Ability to maintain attorney calendars and scheduling;

*Preparing attorneys for hearings and trials;

*Conducts oneself as a career professional (not just an ordinary “job”); and

*Knowledge and use of Apple (iMac) computers, iPhones, iPads a plus.

Compensation: Highly competitive and commensurate with experience.

This is a full-time position with full medical/vision benefits, sick time, progressive vacation time and holidays (nearly 6 weeks), and 401(k) plan with employer matching. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
